Sports Holidays Cyprus will allocate multiple ride groups to enable cyclists of similar abilities and pace to ride together while 1 ride leader and 1 support vehicle will guide you thoughout your trip. High-end performance Canyon rental bikes are available and complete route maps and elevation profiles will be prepared and distributed in advance of your holiday to make sure you have a superior ride experience.

This holiday is based at Drouseia Village in the West part of the island offering great excursions to the beautiful Akamas Nature Reserve, idyllic Paphos Forest and challenging Troodos Mountains routes.

Day One: Arrivals

Day Two: Akamas Coastline

From starting point of Sea Rays Cafe we head West towards Toxeftra Beach were the Green and Loggerhead Turtles nest along this 2 km stretch of sandy beach during June time….we ride along the coastline for our first stop at Lara Bay for photos.

We continue along the sandy trail through the Juniper Forest to our next point of interest, Lara Bay Turtle Sanctuary, which is good opportunity to see the work done by the volunteers to protect the nest sites for the endangered Green and Loggerhead Turtles.

We rejoin the main trail to our next stop of The Chapel of Agios Kononas deep in the Akamas forest….from here the trail descents down hill for 4 km back to the rugged coastline….we take photo stop before returning along the 19 km coastal trail back to the start point for a well earned drink.

This route is ideal for beginners with some riding experience and good level of fitness.

Distance: 43km | Total Elevation Gain: 420m  | Grade: 4/10 Easy to Moderate | Total time: 3-4 hour

Day Three: Olympus Circuit

This ride is suitable for experience riders who want to ride the best single trails, with stunning mountain views.

From Troodos Square we follow the Atalante Trail around the highest peak on the island at 1952m (Mount Olympus), this technical single track trail has stunning forest views.

From the 14km mark we leave the Atalante Trail to join the Artemis Trail to complete another loop of Mount Olympus and riding a total of 21km of technical single trail and reaching a maximum high of 1850m above see level with only 250m of total climbing.

This route is not ideal for beginners. Good riding experience and good level of fitness required.

Distance: 21 km | Total Elevation Gain: 250 m  | Grade: 8/10 (Technical) | Total time: 2-3 hour

Day Four: Paphos Forest

Roudia Bridge is part of the Natural Trail that connects the three venetian bridges of Paphos. It was built during the Venetian period and the name “roudia” comes from a bush which was important for the venetian trade.

From the start point just below the village of Nata, we ride the asphalt road for 3km before heading off road and along the Xeros River bed, crossing the river in several places along the way, you are sure to get your feet wet.

Our first point of interest is the abandoned monastery Panagia Tou Sinit, dates back to the 16th century and is still today in excellent condition mainly due to some excellent restoration work.

After a short break we continue along the river pasting two to three disused water mills which were once used in the production of flour.

Our halfway point is the shaded area of the Roudia Bridge were you can cool of in the waters under the bridge.

We return along the same trail stopping for drinks at Argonaftis Donkey Farm before returning to start point for optional meal at the local village tavern

This route is ideal for beginners with some riding experience and good level of fitness.

Palates Hotel, Droushia Village

PALATES VILLAGE HOTEL is a family run business, comfortable and traditional. The hotel is built in the historical Cypriot style with stones and fits the rural surroundings.  It is located in the beautiful village of Droushia which is situated in the heart of the Akamas peninsula in the North West of the island. This charming old settlement nestles in spectacular surroundings on a rugged plateau. There are fantastic views towards the Akamas Nature Reserve and the Troodos mountain range, as well as towards the Mediterranean Sea. The Palates Village Hotel provides an ideal base for exploring this fascinating area. Droushia is only 10 minutes by car to the beautiful beaches of Latchi. The distance to Paphos International Airport is about 40km.

1. Non training partners

Not advised for Non training partners. This trip’s itinerary was designed for optimal learning purposes. It requires observation sessions in training areas in order to get the most out of the Brett Sutton experience. We do not encourage non-training companions to join this trip, as the focus is on triathlon techniques and high performance athletes. Non training partners, unless they have their own transportation, will spend most of their time in the support vans, following the athletes from point to point.

2. Single travellers and twin to share

Single travellers are welcome on all our camps, holidays and tours! We trust that you will have a great time and meet like minded people. As a single traveller you can have a single room or if you want to avoid the single supplement we can pair you up with another rider (of the same sex) so you can join us without having to pay extra.

3. Getting There

Transfers from and to Pafos International Airport (PFO) are included in your package. However, if you need to travel to Larnaca International Airport (LCA) a number of options are also available. Please look at our Larnaca Transfers page for further information.

4. What to Bring

Comfortable, sports wear is advised for our Dragon Boating training camps. For more info on training kit please check out FAQS.

5. Food

Packages include Full Board catering that can be tailored to suit vegetarian, vegan and other diets. Please get in touch to let us know about your special dietary requirements.

6. General, visa, passport and health information

7. Medical certificate

To participate in one of our camps you need to fill in medical form or have a medical certificate signed by your doctor within the last year from the camp date. You can find the medical form here.

9. How to Book

Click on the Book Now at the top right hand of the page. At time of booking we require a non-refundable deposit per person plus any applicable entry fee. The balance of your travel package must be paid, at the latest, 4 weeks before departure to avoid the cancellation of your trip. Please look here for our full booking terms.
